However, at -53 it is still easy to punish, especially with Drive Rush or a forward dash into Drive Impact. When used out of Drive Rush, Rashid is slightly plus on block and can link into 5MP on hit, greatly increasing his damage potential. Some moves play out an extended recovery animation when no other button/direction is input (for crouching moves, it applies when holding any down direction). These are often referred to as “actionable recovery” frames; in some games, the term IASA (Interruptible As Soon As) refers to the frame that Actionable Recovery begins. If this proves too difficult when starting out, substitute the 5MK, 5MP link for 5HP. “Good luck against Rashid my friends, but this character is not normal,” writes user TheLolHounds, who posted his own findings online to the community.
Super Arts
Taking advantage of Forced Knockdown juggles is important for dealing with moves like Ken’s Dragonlash, Dhalsim’s Air Teleport, or Kimberly’s 6HK~Hop sequence. Most airborne command normals, special moves, and Super Arts put the user in a “Forced Knockdown” state. While in this state, an air knockdown will occur when being hit by any attack, even if it would otherwise cause an air reset.
Links and Starters
This quick and powerful rundown combo can be used right at the start of a match. Close the gap with Run, and lock the opponent with an overhead kick. Follow-up with Flapping Spin, but quickly cancel into a Spinning Mixer for a burst of damage. With the wind as his ally, he outfoxes opponents with his high mobility. After Ryu defeated Bison and the Shadaloo base was destroyed, Rashid and Azam watched the other fighters from afar.
Combos for Rashid
- Rashid is enthusiastic to meet the famous wrestler and is in awe at his muscularity.
- A series of sweeping low attacks performed from Run that switches sides with the enemy.
- Refers to the frame advantage when canceling a normal, command normal, or Target Combo into Drive Rush on hit or block (abbreviated as DRC for Drive Rush Cancel).
- Rashid’s kit is very complex and freeform, which both acts as a boon (in that it gives him lots of tools) and a curse (in that picking the best option can be difficult).
Somewhat vulnerable to Drive Impact since it cannot cancel, but Rashid has plenty of options to discourage random DI usage. As an example, Ryu’s 2HP causes an air reset when used as an anti-air. Against a move like Cammy’s Hooligan Combination, however, the 2HP puts her into an air knockdown state. This allows Ryu to successfully cancel 2HP into Shoryuken for a juggle, similar to how a Drive Impact wall splat works.
Rashid’s Level 1 Super is Super Rashid Kick, a powerful leaping side kick that gains additional damage and a cinematic side switch if it lands on a grounded opponent. In Street Fighter 6, Rashid retains his signature mobility, being one of the most nimble fighters in the game. Rashid hops forward and comes down with an overhead elbow that is safe on block and somewhat hard to see. With perfect spacing or meaty timing it is possible to link naturally into a light normal, but this is very precise. The range boost from an Air Current makes 6HP a great surprise attack in neutral, especially if there is an active SA2 tornado on screen.
Intermediate Combo: Arabian Cyclone + Rolling Assault + Nail Assault + Run + Backup
Rashid’s sweep has fairly short range and is easily punished by most characters even at max range. It is fast enough to use as an occasional whiff punish, or to punish other sweeps if the pushback allows it. It becomes a much better harassment tool against opponents in Burnout as long as they don’t have a great 7f normal to punish with. At max range, 5MK will not combo into anything, but on Counter-hit it links to itself for a little extra damage.
Rashid and Azam find Ryu (who is with Gouken), as the former introduces himself as a hero who travels the world. Rashid wants to test his mettle by challenging Ryu; he takes a fighting stance but Ryu does not jump into the fight. Rashid finds this odd as sources have stated that doing so will cause Ryu to immediately fight.
The Beak Assault opens up his opponent when they are constantly crouch guarding. Although this move is -4 on block, it can be difficult to punish if he hits this attack at the tip of the elbow. If the opponent attempts to Drive Reversal a button canceled into SA2, Rashid will get knocked down but the tornado will still punish them. Rashid can follow this up with HK Eagle Spike from anywhere on screen, even if he Back Rises. Other juggle options are also possible after a Neutral Rise, such as Drive Rush into enhanced OD Spinning Mixer if you want to spend more meter to optimize the damage. Chun-Li’s Drive Reversal will only hit once, leaving Rashid at point blank for an even easier juggle.
An airborne forward dash that can be followed up with a jump attack. Rashid uses his own unique fighting style derived from parkour and his ability the profitability ratio and company evaluation to control winds. Azam is revealed to be an advisor of a group known as the “Muscle Soul Fighters Club”, of which Zangief and Laura are a part of.
