We recently teamed up with Sew Fabulous (a not for profit sustainable community textile studio based at the Open Market), Varndean and Dorothy Stringer to run a successful clothes swap event.
During the event, attended by pupils from both schools, 274 items were donated, 144 items swapped and the rest donated to charity. This accounts for at least 420kg carbon saved.
You can read more about the event here.
If your school would like to run a similar event, we’ve put together a Run Your Own School Clothes Swap Guide to use alongside this short film (password ‘swap’)to drum interest (you may need to edit out the not so relevant parts).
